Gene is an Associate Professor of Information Systems at the UBC Sauder School of Business. He is also the Director of the Data + AI Research Group, an international research organization that examines how AI has been reshaping firms, labor and institutions world-wide. The holder of 11 patents in mobile technology, his award-winning AI and business analytics research has been published in leading Information Systems publications world-wide. Formerly Gene was a research engineer at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology. He has also worked for Samsung R&D Canada, Hyundai/Kia Motor, AT&T, Intel and Goldman Sachs.
