Managing Multi-Billion-Dollar Portfolio - The Amazon Way
Managing a Multi-Billion-Dollar Portfolio – The Amazon Way
What does it really take to manage high-profile, multi-billion-dollar projects where schedule, budget, scope, quality, safety, and stakeholder expectations are all competing at once? In this guest webinar, Jean Lambert will share real-world lessons from leading a large-scale $4B portfolio of complex construction projects, using Amazon’s leadership principles as a practical lens for decision-making, risk management, communication, and execution under pressure. Students will hear candid examples of what happens when schedules tighten, budgets are constrained, stakeholders disagree, procurement markets are stretched, and teams must still deliver results. The session will offer an inside look at the intensity, complexity, and reward of managing projects at scale — and what project leaders need to succeed when the pressure is real.
Guest Speaker: Jean Lambert
Jean Lambert has led projects where there is no room for guesswork. Over the course of his career, he has worked across the military, space satellite programs, airport development, and large-scale logistics environments, including Amazon’s national robotics fulfillment center program in Canada. He now leads real estate development at Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR). Jean holds an MBA in Project Management, a BSc in Space Sciences, and the PMP designation. He is also the proud, and likely outnumbered, father of four daughters. Jean brings a practical, real-world view of leadership, risk, and execution at scale - and the stories behind the scenes are just as interesting as the projects themselves.
