The UBC Sauder Certificate in Change Management equips you with the frameworks, tools, and practical skills to do exactly that. The newly revised curriculum integrates fresh concepts aligned with the latest industry standards from The Standard, 2nd Edition, published by the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) in 2025, ensuring your learning reflects the most current thinking in the field.

Choose from two delivery paths: a 16-week course-by-course stream that lets you pace your learning, or our intensive 10-week Bootcamp for a concentrated, cohort-based experience. Both are delivered Live Online, with evening or weekend sessions designed to fit around your work schedule.

Every successful change initiative starts with a solid understanding of what change is, why it matters, and how organizations can best prepare for it. This course introduces you to the foundational principles, models, and frameworks of change management. You'll explore how both planned and unexpected change affects organizations, why change initiatives fail, and what distinguishes organizations that navigate change successfully. This is the required first course in the program and the gateway to all subsequent courses.

Is your organization ready for change? This course moves you from foundational understanding into the practical analysis and planning phase of a change initiative. You will assess organizational readiness, conduct a structured Change Impact Assessment, and develop a comprehensive Change Management Strategy and Approach that addresses risks, stakeholders, and complexity. Through applied tools and real-world frameworks, you’ll learn how to plan for adoption, measure success, and sustain change with strong leadership alignment and stakeholder buy-in.

A great plan is only as good as its execution. This course focuses on bringing your Change Management Strategy and Plan to life. This course emphasizes execution, measurement, sustainment, and closure of change initiatives, aligning with industry best practices. You will move from planning into action—learning how to implement your Change Management Plan, monitor adoption and performance, address resistance in real time, and sustain outcomes. The course also explores how to evaluate success, capture lessons learned, and effectively transition ownership to ensure long-term impact.
